Have you ever noticed the changes happening in our surroundings? Have you ever wondered why it rains even though its summer time? Why it is so hot even though it is rainy season? Yes, it is very alarming yet it cause adverse effects in our everyday life. And we call it as global climate change. Is there still a solution to this problem we are facing?
Global Climate Change is caused by the accumulation of greenhouse gases in the lower atmosphere. The global concentration of these gases is increasing, mainly due to human activities such as combustion of fossil fuels and deforestation. Who are the one responsible in this situation? Its us, humans that must be the caretaker of mother nature. Its not yet the end of everything. There is still a solution to it. If we cannot do everything, we can do something. Let it start in our own selves. There are a lot of ways to do so. Such as the 3Rs: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Reduce carbon dioxide through planting trees, not burning plastics, Styrofoams and materials that cause the destruction of our ozone layer. Reuse, most especially to the things which we think don't have any use. For if we just set it aside, it might cause disaster such as flood, erosion, and many disastrous things. Recycle, let us be resourceful enough. Let us still use the things which we have used already.
We cannot hide the fact that the adverse effects of climate change have been suffered by many of us. One is the "Natural Disasters" such as El Niño and La Niña. The loss of lives and properties are some of the common effects of this global climate change. Another thing that is affected is the "Food Security." Climate change affects greatly the agricultural sector. It will result to the risk of hunger, yet poverty follows then. Thus the supply of foods will decrease. Lastly, Infectious Diseases. Temperature can influence the reproduction and survival of the infective agent. Vector-borne diseases are transmitted by insects that are sensitive to temperature, humidity and rainfall.
The future of our planet depends on our hands. Let us bear in mind that our nature plays a vital role in our daily living. Altogether let us bring back the exquisiteness of nature.
Let us act now!
